27 Toasts of Wine is an online performance presented on Zoom that incorporates documentary materials from the Liu Qiangdong v. Jingyao case (2019–2022), a case that ignited widespread social discourse in China. Through digital mediation, the performance channels Jingyao’s inner experience while critically examining the complexities of power, gender, violence, and trauma.
